To celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, Mr. Scary's first grade class prepares a Thankful List for the school contest, but Junie B. finds it hard to be grateful for squash or Tattletale May.

Room One is doing a list of all the things they are thankful for. It is for a school contest. The winning class will win a pumpkin pie. However nobody in the class doesn't like pumpkin pie. Even Mr. Scary dislikes pumpkin pie.

  • This book was published in honor of the 20th anniversary of Junie B. Jones.
  • This was the final Junie B. Jones book Barbara Park ever published before her death.
  • Originally, there was going to be a book entitled "Junie B., First Grader: a New Year! Memories of First Grade", which was going to be the final book of the Junie B., First Grader series, but after Barbara Park's death from ovarian cancer in November of 2013, the book had to be cancelled, leaving this book the final one of the series.
  • This book marks the final appearences of Junie B., Lucille, Sheldon, Mr. Scary, Shirley, Jose, Camille, Chenille, and May.
